The Final Why I Write......

  

Certain people tell you to write and tell you to do this does that. Well when the teacher tells too to write, what do you do? You don’t write, you goof off and then write the last minute and it’s horrible, but sometimes great. When I got into composition, I learned that writing doesn’t just take one day or four hours, it take multiple hours and days to get a great piece.

                I write because of one this honors class that I have taken composition. At first it was very hard and frustrating because there were papers left, and right. After the first semester was over I have gained enough courage to just sit and write, yes it was hard but I got in the habit of writing. Each piece that we have worked on has touched my heart in several ways. I can remember clearly the Crash paper last semester. That touched my heart because it taught us the values or racism and how we stereotype people without knowing them. The paper about us that was assigned with different ways of writing , I remember that one because I got to talk about my family and how I was raised and certain things that make me, me. If I could go back today I would do a lot of my writing differently and take my time and enjoy each piece Ms. James has given us.

                I write because I started writing about an old me that doesn’t exist anymore, over this school year a lot has happened and hanged me into a new person, more of a stronger person and writing about that makes me feel great because I have been knocked down several times but I’ve gotten up and written about it. Now as I sit hear taking this final I listen to all the keyboards pecking away and it makes me wonder if this will sound the same again, we have spent countless hours revising and looking at each other’s paper and now it’s time to say goodbye.  However one project I loved doing was this Multi- Genre project. We all took time and effort and put several papers together to make one big project and the thought of that seems scary but when I was writing my poem for that piece I fought so hard not to write it but when I sat down and was thinking words came to me, and I had written a poem that was worth it. One of my best poems that I will treasure.

                Most people would say I write because the teacher makes me, but the teacher doesn’t really make you, we choose to take this class we choose to write almost whatever we want and granted it takes forever to finish but we sit through it and work on it. I will say I’m going to miss this class and Miss Ms. James because she puts a lot of thought into this class and makes all of us pass and she may nag but her nagging is great because she makes us get the work in and we pass. Thank you Ms. James

               I write because writing is a stress reliever and it helps voice an opinion without getting in trouble, it helps you yell at someone on paper and the rip it up and no one will ever have to see it again. That’s why I love to write, it also helps me tell someone how I feel. I love to write even if it is a struggle for me.

Blog #7 Plagiarism

whats the big deal about Plagiarism anyways?  Yes i know it is a very big deal, the things people copy and paste as their own is unfair to the people that have made an effort and it paid off in the end, now they have teenagers stealing their work as there own.
       Mostly school have a source they can put the paper through and they can see if you have copied. one passage i liked what the article said about how easy it is to copy n paste.

Digital technology makes copying and pasting easy, of course. But that is the least of it. The Internet may also be redefining how students — who came of age with music file-sharing, Wikipedia and Web-linking — understand the concept of authorship and the singularity of any text or image.

Its easy to copy and paste. some websites have the protection on them where you can not copy and paste. Like the lyrics websites they have the protection where you can not copy what so ever.

Blogg 6

I liked the multi genre piece about The Wizard Of OZ. It was very good, i liked how the person had Dear Readers, to give them an introduction. I liked the poem Anameless world, the was a great title for it because how else do you know what to call the wizard of OZ. It is a nameless world in some points.
   He hits the heart with the poem about A Star Is Born. people would read that and can tell that something has happened and how the story is told.Everything about this project fits in  its like it lays in order, falling into place with each piece you read.

Multi genre blog evaluation

I have enjoyed doing this project, very much so that i want to make this big and exciting, things that i have done for this project i would have never guessed i could do. I have done a two voice poem, and for once that came to me and it sounds really good, i had no trouble with the poem, and i dreaded the poem for forever, once i got a couple lines down i got mostly all of them and it came out to be almost flowing. The other pieces i have for this project are coming together great, when you hear PROJECT everyone goes into hiding, however with this one i believe people love this idea and its grwat for an end of the year project.

I think if i could go back and do it again i would do a project about my family because my grandparents have stories like no other. I only chose In Vitro becasue its very interesting and hopefully one day i can help make miracles for couples. I have always loved science.........

blogg number 5 (MEMOABLE RHETORIC)

Looking back in time is very interesting because we never know what they have learned or when they experianced change. We experance change everyday, with all of the eletronics and the world, its changing everyday, we have a hard time sticking to one thing, and by the time we learn one thing a new item has came out that you need to learn that you have to have.
     
       Being sucessful at work, with reading, writing, speaking, all of the things that you use everyday. one passage i did like was......

Modern corporations have spent billions trying to hone in on which words will persuade people to remember and purchase their products. Their expensive studies have shown that the use of the figures “leads to more liking for the ad, a more positive brand attitude, and better recall of ad headlines.”
Why do they spend so much on telling the world about a new product? People honestly do not look up all the time, we have no desire for looking up, yet if some big company spends millions on one AD that lights up the sky, of course were going to look, why wouldnt we.

I also liked 

The most important figures for making phrases memorable are the figures of repetition, especially rhyme and alliteration. This key goal of repetition has been understood for millennia, hence the Latin expression Repetitio mater memoriae, “Repetition is the mother of memory.”

In the Future Dave Barry

I really enjoyed this article because it was interesting and very funny. It kept me entertained by his funny ways of telling us were waisting our time by going to college but we should go to learn something we will forget most of the stuff we've learned. My future holds a lot, however it has changed a lot but for every person that i get that tells me i can't do it, just pushes me more and more to make myself do it. I may not learn everything in college, or i may forget most of what they teach in schools, but me knowing i went to college and got a degree for something that is a waist of time. It will look very good at the end of the day. I will prove people wrong in the end and they will look up and see who is standing in the long run.

grammar second half

I think this blog website was fuuny, grammar like the first one. Telling us how to use grammar when they do not know how to use it, however when the people tell us they show us one way how to do it then tel us it wrong then when we do it that way they say no no do it this way. The article is very interesting but when it comes dowwn to grammar people stress because they do not know how too do it.

I think this blog website was fuuny, grammar has always been hard for me and always will be. I want to try hard and work on it but some of it doesnt make sense because there are so many ways to make sentences work. The article just explains which ways are improper and which way would be better to write, but thats what is cool about being different from others because everyone has a different way of writing, yes may be improper but Are all the english teachers always perfect, probably not they make mistakes their human.

Fertility Specialist

·         My project is about career interest

·         I want to interview someone that has been in this field for a while, and I have emailed doctors and waiting for a response.

·         I have already done some research on fertility and how helpful it is and successful, however sometimes it’s not successful and very stressful because of the money.

·         Some things I’m worried about is whether or not the person wants to give information about their lives and how they were brought to become a doctor.

·         This project interests me because I want to become a fertility doctor and my mom has had this happen to her, I was scared at first because I didn’t know what they were doing to her, however it was perfectly safe and nothing to worry about, it didn’t take and she was not pregnant but it did trigger something and she had my little sister Jenny.

·         If this project fails then I’m not sure what I will do, I may do the views on being a teacher.

·         As I was reading this article, it felt like it was jumping around but yet keeping on the same topic. However after a while I lost where I was because it all sounded the same. I did stop a few times wondering what Dave was talking about and how he thinks someone is messing with his mind and how he used to be able to read a book easy but now it is hard for him to concentrate.

·         This article was very interesting with reasons why someone would think they are going stupid over a website. My reaction at first was this guy is crazy, however after you get further into the article , your now wondering if Dave is right and how Google is making us stupid.

·         “Maybe I’m just a worrywart. Just as there’s a tendency to glorify technological progress, there’s a countertendency to expect the worst of every new tool or machine.”  People are worrywarts all the time, depending on what it is. Personally I worry about everything, my mom once told me,” Rashel you just need to only worry once and stop worrying because worrying doesn’t do anything but stress you out.” Which it is very true worrying causes stress and we all do not need stress because of one little thing. Another thing she told me was never sweat the small stuff. Only worry about big things.

·         “The idea that our minds should operate as high-speed data-processing machines is not only built into the workings of the Internet, it is the network’s reigning business model as well.”  If only this was true then we would all have it easy with everything, bills would be done on time, figuring out math more would be a lot easier and people wouldn’t think anything about internet sites causing us to be more stupid then the human race is already. People would think its natural.

·         “The more pieces of information we can “access” and the faster we can extract their gist, the more productive we become as thinker.” I like this quote because he is correct. People think just because they have the internet access means they can be the smartest person alive, yet everything that is on the internet isn’t all true, you can find a fact somewhere on one site, then go to another on and it is false.

Chasing Brooklynn #2

Having someone close to you die hurts. It is a lot of heartache. In Chasing Brooklynn; Brooklynns boyfriend died lucas. His brother Nico is dealing with the pain of losing his younger brother. Well nico is having a nightmare so he thought it was, but lucas is trying to tell his brother to look after Brooklyn to see if she is ok, and if she needs help.

As I cruise

The internet,

I sense something behind me.

I turn around,expecting to see

Ma or pop standing there.

Buts its just me.

Then I see a shawdow pass by

My bedroom window.

Its dark out,excpet for the soft glow

Of the moonlight shining in.

The light seems to change ever so slightly.

I stand and back up toward the door.

How would you react to something that happened to you like that? I would flip because my dead brother has come to tell me take care of someone that he loved. Im not sure what I would do. Maybe I would check out whoever he loved just to see if she is ok.

                So far this book is very good and I am enjoying it. Each page that I turn.

MODERN FAMILY

Proposal: Modern Family (How family differs all over.)

Statement and topic: I will write my essay on the TV show modern Family. Modern family is known for the blending of different cultures, same sex marriage, age differences, and families all over in general. This show has also won several Grammies for the humor and the modern of the society today.

 Purpose and argument: In this essay I will argue that the show Modern Family does provide viewers with a realistic view of today’s society.

Organization: I will begin my essay about the statistics about different blends of families, following the TV show Modern Family that shows a unique way of blended families getting along in everyday life. Having a comical twist to keep viewers viewed in.

1.       In today’s world how long do you think the average couple stays together, through thick and thin?

2.       Is Modern Family an increasing show by popularity?

3.       Is Modern Family reflecting on today’s society, by representing what Americans go through?

 

# 1 The blind side

The Blind Side is a great movie I enjoyed watching it. It is very funny and I love watching the movie, because I love the actors and it is based on a true story. It feels good watching the movie about the main character just to watch him play every year on The Ravens.

Her easygoing millionaire husband Sean (Tim McGraw) is too good to be true, her cheerleader daughter Collins (Lily Collins) is pure whitebread, and Collins's kid brother, tousle-haired little tyke SJ (Jae Head), deserved some sort of mini-Oscar for being annoying. Bullock is Leigh Anne Tuohy, the formidable woman from Memphis, Tennessee, who one evening notices a big, unhappy black boy called Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron), shuffling out of her son's school with ragged clothes and, apparently, no place to sleep. She takes him under her wing, into her home and into her heart. There are pre-emptive scenes coolly nipping any worries in the bud – she raises and dismisses the fear that he might steal something. A friend is icily rebuked  over lunch for wondering about Michael's proximity to Leigh Anne's lovely teenage daughter ("Shame on you!"). Leigh Anne herself seeks out Michael's drug-addicted mother and, without needing to ask, secures the woman's heartfelt blessing for what she is doing: "You're a fine Christian lady!"

Soon Michael is taking to the football field and, after a wobbly start, is a natural and definite college sports scholarship material. But wait. Like all the Tuohy family, Leigh Anne loves football. Could it be that she was grooming Michael as a mouthwatering gift to her football-crazy alma mater, the University of Mississippi, a big part of her social status and the place where she undoubtedly hopes to send her own kids? And if she was, what on earth is so bad about that? Everyone wins, don't they? Aren't conservatives allowed to show compassion? The Blind Side Proposal

I will write an essay about the blind side.  The blind side is one of the most popular movies that came out in March of 2010. This movie relates to racism and based on limitations of being poor or wealthy.

In this essay I will argue that you can do what you put your mind too. Whether you’re black white, poor, wealthy you can still do anything.  If people stand in your way, you can work around them and be kind to everyone because you don’t know who is going to be there for you in your future.

                I will begin my essay with people in America live with so many regrets because of what happened in their life as a child.  I will also include my thesis statement (Despite some people the blind side may be helpful for people to watch and learn some life lessons.)

                The summary about this movie is a millionaire family takes in an African American that is challenged at school work but in but is a great football player. The family pays for a tutor so he can become what he’s always wanted to do. Was play football. Everyone keeps putting him down and saying he can’t do it because he is challenged in school. Well he proved them wrong
